Privacy Policy for Flappy Diver

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Introduction

Nico Scuba / Nicolas Roos ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Flappy Diver mobile application (the "App"). This page explains what information we collect, why, and your choices. You can play Flappy Diver with no account and no personal data collection at all. Some optional features — the global leaderboard and our newsletter — do involve personal data, as described below.

Playing Without an Account

If you just play the game, we do not collect any personal information. The App stores the following data locally on your device only, and it never leaves your device:

Accounts and Global Leaderboard

To appear on the global leaderboard you can choose a diver name, and you can optionally sign in with Apple or Google so your name and scores stay with you across devices. If you use these features, we collect:

We do not collect your real name, contacts, precise location, photos, or device advertising identifiers.

Newsletter and Marketing Emails

We send marketing emails (news and product updates) only if you actively opt in by ticking the newsletter box when you create your diver name or later in your profile. The box is never ticked for you. This is your consent under the GDPR, and we record the date you gave it.

You can withdraw consent at any time by turning the newsletter toggle off in your profile, or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. Withdrawing is free and does not affect your ability to play or use any feature.

Legal Basis (GDPR)

For players in the EU/EEA: we process your account identifier, diver name, scores, email, and country to provide the game and leaderboard you asked for (contract / legitimate interest). We send marketing emails only on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data — contact us or use in-app deletion.

How It's Stored

Account data, diver names, scores, email, and country are stored using Supabase (our backend provider) on secure servers, and transmitted over encrypted connections.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from inside the App:

Profile → Delete Account

This permanently deletes your account, email, diver name, country, newsletter preference, and global scores from our servers. Your local high scores stay on your device (you can clear those by deleting the App). Account deletion cannot be undone.

Third-Party Services

The App contains no advertising, does no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell or share your data. We use your email only to send you our own newsletter, and only if you opted in. The third parties involved are:

Children's Privacy

Flappy Diver is a family-friendly game and can be played with no account and no data collection. Account features (which involve an email address) are intended for players old enough to have an Apple or Google account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
